Don't Let People Walk All Over Your Online Business

Making money online or by blogging from home is such an easy thing to do these days - ANYONE can do it. Buying a domain, hosting, and installing Wordpress is as simple as that. Reaching out, connecting with others, and finding clients couldn't be a less difficult task.

But happens when you hit bumps in the road with your online business? If you're a freelancer or article writer and someone walks all over your work, tells you made mistakes when you didn't, or refuses to pay your asking price for the finished product? Or maybe someone just asks you to do something you stated you wouldn't do, or that you're not comfortable with?

What if you're a blogger and you're selling valuable advertising space on your blog? No matter how low your prices are or how great your site is, people always will want to take advantage of anything they can. They'll push, pull, and tug to get their way. Whether people demand a discount on your set prices or try to get you to advertise a site you don't approve of, what should you do?

So many bloggers and webmasters with online businesses often CAVE IN to their clients' and sponsors' pushing because they're afraid of losing business. But that's not the case, and it only makes you a weaker person.

For your businesses, set out specific ground rules before you start and make them clear. When people push them or ask you to do or promote something you already said you wouldn't, or to lower a price you already specified was a set amount, just say NO. Don't be rude, but explain your reasons if you must, and say no.

I've lowered my advertising costs for people before just because they asked, just to give them what they wanted, just so I wouldn't "lose business". But this was a mistake and made ME lose. Decline the offers you dislike, and wait for a better one to come along if you must.

It's YOUR business. Run it the way you feel is right and don't let people walk all over you.
